The aim of the COATS union network is to establish sustainable industrial relations throughout the supply chain of COATS Group. The company has a worldwide manufacturing operation having mixed employment relationships between workers and the management. Many of its manufacturing plants remained unorganized and working conditions in their facilities also varies country to country. IndustriALL through the creation of this network with its affiliated trade unions is addressing these issues and further want to engage in a social dialogue with the company on a global level so that workers enjoy the same labor standards throughout the whole supply chain of COATS. The core objectives of this union network is to-
- Meet regularly in regional and global meetings to share and update the conditions of their respective factories
- Dissemination of information and resources of the trade union works with one another and maintain a non-stop communication between its members
- Mitigate and solve unfair labour practices if occurs in a country with mutual fruitful negotiation and dialogue with the employer both in local and global level
- Conduct labor campaigns for the wellbeing of the COATS workers globally
- Engage in better communication with IndustriALL so that the global union can address key labor issues to the company on global level
- Help IndustriALL to engage with the company head office for Global agreement that ensure the same labor standards throughout the worldwide manufacturing operations of COATS
